A Two-Part Mini Online Course

Today’s readers are desperate to learn the true and complex history of the world that they inhabit, and novels in verse provide a powerful vehicle to explore difficult periods of history.  Join verse novelists Nadine Pinede and Kip Wilson to discover strategies for weaving history into the structure of a novel in verse to inspire readers with the type of contextual understanding, relevant learning, and sense of hope that only poetry can provide.

This program is a great fit if you’re looking for a short course of two, 75-minute sessions offering limited interaction with the community, but loads of information.

Why This Workshop?

The historical novel in verse allows for an examination of history in an emotionally charged form. Join authors Nadine Pinede and Kip Wilson to discover ways to weave history into the structure of a novel in verse for your readers.

There will be time saved for a Q&A each afternoon, and practical exercises to apply to your own novel in verse ideas.

Additionally, a bibliography will be included with all mentioned titles in the presentation.

Feedback Expected

  • There will be limited interaction in the chat feature of the webinar-style program.
  • Nadine and Kip will try to answer as many questions as possible during the Q & A portion of the program.

  • You are building your understanding of the form and opportunities of verse novels. While examples will be from and for historical novels in verse, the details shared are applicable to many novels in verse.
  • You’re looking for something short, sweet, and smart! This is not a full workshop; these are short sessions meant to engage and build an understanding of historical novels in verse.
