Lala Watkins

Lala Watkins is an illustrator, author, and self-proclaimed “good vibes connoisseur whose work is like a summer pool party, and everyone’s invited! A Ringling College of Art & Design graduate, Watkins has worked on numerous children’s books and comics that make her heart (and yours) emote the heart-eyed emoji. She’s in a long-term relationship with the sun, so she lives in sunny Florida. As a BIG sweets enthusiast and an uncompromising nap queen, it is a goal of hers to add more goodness and playful vibes into the world. Her famous last words would most likely be, “That sounds like a horrible idea. What time?”

Sankofa: A Culinary Story of Resilience and Belonging by Eric Adejpong, illustrated by her, has been named a 2024 CABA Honor Picture Book.

Little Santa’s Workshop by Lala Watkins was listed on The Children’s Book Committee of Bank Street College of Education’s Best Children’s Books of the Year for 2023 in the Under Five Category.
