Heather L. Montgomery writes books for kids who are wild about animals. An award-winning author and educator, Heather uses yuck appeal to engage young minds. She has published 18 nonfiction books, including: Something Rotten: A Fresh Look at Roadkill; a picture book entitled What’s in Your Pocket? Collecting Nature’s Treasures; and Sick! The Twists and Turns Behind Animal Germs. When she’s not writing or researching, she’s likely to be leading kids up a mountain trail or interviewing a scientist while standing knee-deep in a creek. “I loved the nature immersion experiences that Heather L. Montgomery led—especially the night hike and the stream science. Great reminder of why we might be writing science.”

“Both Heather and Miranda [Paul] were exceptional at teaching their knowledge. They had great insight into their topics: targeted knowledge that was helpful in figuring out formats for projects, ways to revise projects, etc. I enjoyed every session with them.”

“Teaming Miranda Paul and Heather L. Montgomery together provided a great range of experience to draw upon – They complemented and enriched each other, plus it was good to get opinions from two different perspectives.”
