Gloria’s Story

Gloria is a Colombian American writer and advocate for multilingual literacy. Her poetry book DANZIRLY was awarded the Academy of American Poets Ambroggio Prize and the Gold Medal Florida Book Award. Muñoz is also the author of the chapbook YOUR BIOME HAS FOUND YOU. A proponent of cross-disciplinary collaboration, she has worked alongside botanists, musicians, dancers, historians, classicists, visual artists, conservationists, and neuroscientists. She is one-half of the songwriting team Moonlit Musica.

Gloria is a big fan of the Highlights Foundation community: “The community Highlights builds is unlike any other. I’m most thankful for the friends I’ve met at Highlights. Also, every single instructor I’ve worked with has been phenomenal!”

She hopes “to inspire young readers to pursue their passions and engage with their communities. I believe young people have the creativity and drive to enact change through their artwork as well.”
